Neoadjuvant chemotherapy in potentially resectable stage IIIA-N2 non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has become standard of treatment in the last years. Two randomised pioneer phase III trials conducted with second generation platinum combinations had demonstrated an advantage in survival of induction chemotherapy followed by surgery versus surgery alone.
